NewsBDC is a news and content publishing website. Its job is straightforward and unforgiving: get a reader from a headline to a well-presented article with as little friction as possible, on any screen.

Publishing sites fail in predictable ways — categories that do not scale, homepages that bury the lead, article pages that are hard to read on a phone, and a structure search engines cannot parse cleanly.

The design centres on a small set of reusable content patterns — lead story, section grid, list item, article body — repeated consistently. That keeps the site readable as the archive grows, and keeps new content cheap to publish correctly.

Responsive behaviour was designed rather than inherited: the reading column, metadata placement and navigation all change shape between phone and desktop.
